When is the best time to see the Desert Rose in bloom?

The Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) typically blooms between January and April, depending on seasonal conditions.

While this period offers a unique opportunity to see parts of Socotra in bloom, travel between October and May provides a wide range of experiences — from clear skies and calm seas to ideal conditions for hiking, snorkeling, and exploring the island’s landscapes.

Each season offers a different perspective of Socotra.

Where do we stay during the tour, and what are the facilities like?

Accommodation is primarily eco-camping in carefully selected natural locations such as beaches, lagoons, and mountain plateaus, allowing you to fully experience Socotra’s landscapes.

We provide comfortable camping setups, including tents and essential equipment.

For facilities, portable toilets are set up at campsites with proper hygiene measures. Shower options vary by location — some camps offer basic shower setups, while others use fresh water tanks or natural water sources.

The experience is designed to balance comfort with the island’s remote and untouched nature, with our team ensuring everything is managed in a clean and organized way.

For guests who prefer additional comfort, basic hotel stays in Hadiboh can be arranged upon request.

Is the tour physically demanding?

The trip is moderately active. Most days involve light walking, swimming, and scenic exploration.

Optional hikes — such as Hoq Cave or sand dune climbs — can be skipped if you prefer to relax at camp

When is the best time to visit Socotra?

Socotra can be visited between October and May, when weather conditions are generally suitable for travel, camping, and boat trips.

Each part of the season offers a different experience — from calm seas and clear skies to periods when the island becomes greener, and certain plants begin to bloom.

From June to September, strong monsoon winds can affect accessibility and outdoor activities.

Is there internet access on Socotra?

Internet access on Socotra is limited. Basic connectivity may be available in Hadiboh, and limited Starlink access is provided during the tour for essential communication.
However, the experience is ideal for travelers looking to disconnect and enjoy a true digital detox in a remote natural environment.

Our group departures are intentionally kept small to ensure a more personal and immersive experience.
We also offer private, customized Socotra tours for travelers who prefer greater flexibility.

There are no ATMs on the island that accept international cards, and credit cards are not accepted.
We recommend bringing sufficient US Dollars (clean, undamaged bills) for personal expenses, tips, and small local purchases.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

We understand that travel plans can change, and we aim to keep things as fair and transparent as possible.

If you cancel more than 60 days before your trip, your deposit is refundable, minus an administrative fee of €310 per person.

If you cancel within 60 days of departure, the deposit becomes non-refundable, as key arrangements such as permits and logistics will already be secured.

We always recommend travel insurance for added peace of mind.
